MANILA, Philippines – Host-actress Kris Aquino and Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas share the same birthday wish for President Benigno Aquino III, who will turn 53 on Friday, February 8.

Kris is the President’s youngest sister who used to host a talk show with broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez, Roxas’ wife.

In a column by Joanne Rae Ramirez published in The Philippine Star on Thursday, Kris and Roxas – on separate occasions – wished that the country's bachelor President will finally meet his match.

Aquino was last romantically linked to Korean TV and radio host Grace Lee.

“Someone to love who truly loves him,” Roxas was quoted as saying when asked about his birthday wish for the President.

Kris, for her part, said: “He is so loving and generous with his time and effort, most especially for Josh and Bimb (her sons). Since he is already doing such a great job with the Presidency, I now wish him true and lasting happiness in his personal life. May he find a life partner who will give him a loving home and hopefully makahabol pa ng one or two kids.”

Aquino’s three other sisters, meanwhile, wished that the President will continue to enjoy the support and trust of Filipinos.

“My birthday prayer is my daily prayer, that he will be guided by the Holy Spirit to make the right decisions, that Our Lord keep him healthy and safe, that he will not do anything that will hurt God and Mother Mary and the majority of the Filipinos will continue to support him and be pleased with his governance,” said Ballsy Aquino-Cruz.

“Personal happiness on top of my daily prayers for good health, continued trust from the people and success in making majority of Filipinos enjoy a better life,” said Pinky Aquino-Abellada.

“Every night, I pray for PNoy’s good health and that in leading the country, he remains sincere, humble and with a kind heart,” said Viel Aquino-Dee.

The President’s love life – or lack of it – has been the subject of scrutiny since he assumed office in 2010. Before Lee, he has been linked to several women, including stylist Liz Uy, Valenzuela City councilor Shalani Soledad, stockbroker Len Lopez and teacher Bunny Calica.

While he maintained that love life is not his priority at the moment, Aquino earlier admitted that looking for a life-long partner is one of his more personal pursuits.
