Food shorts: Eastwood goes healthy, Abe opens at Megamall

Eastwood City launches ‘live healthy’ campaign

Megaworld Lifestyle Malls recently launched the Live Healthy at Eastwood City Wellness Campaign at the newly established Eastwood Mall Supermarket and Wellness Wing, which features several fitness activities and nutritious eats
As part of the campaign, celebrity dietician and nutritionist Nadine Tengco unveiled a handpicked menu that health-conscious diners can avail at Eastwood City. Guests were able to try some of the dishes from Mr. Kurosawa, Cyma Greek Taverna, Café Via Mare, Cibo, Agave Mexican Cantina, Detoxify Bar and Mr. Bean.
The resident nutritionist of “The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition” also conducted a short talk on healthy eating, sharing her secrets on how to eat well with the right healthy food choices.
Representatives from Fitness and Curves, meanwhile, announced Weekend Workouts, a free-for-all fitness classes every Saturday at the Eastwood Mall Open Park until March 8. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and is free to interested parties.
Dtarting February 15, guests can also enjoy Zumba fitness classes.

Mandarin Oriental Manila participates in the ongoing British Food Month and the British Embassy’s “This is Great” campaign with a unique Anglo-Indian themed food festival at Paseo Uno and The Tivoli from February 3 to 9.
At The Tivoli, diners can order classic British dishes such as roast leg of lamb, beef Wellington, and traditional bread and butter pudding, among others.
Meanwhile at Paseo Uno, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant, an Anglo-Indian buffet will be offered for lunch and dinner, featuring an assortment of curries and traditional favourites including: chicken tikka masala, beef vindaloo, mulligatawny soup, kedgeree, shepherd’s pie, an array of English desserts, and more – the result of the collaboration between executive Indian sous chef Laxminarayan Ray and the rest of the hotel’s chefs.

The LJC Restaurant Group had just opened a fifth Abe branch at the third level of the expansion building of SM Mega Mall, SM Mega Fashion Hall.
Abé restaurant offers Kapampangan cookery as well as dishes that reflect the favorites of writer-painter "Abé" Aguilar Cruz, the father of LJC Group founder Larry J. Cruz.
The restaurant is known for its signature dishes such as Binukadkad na Plapla with balo-balo and mustasa, Sinuteng Baby Pusit, Paco Fern and Tomato Salad, Sinigang na Bangus sa Bayabas, and Knockout Knuckles, the LJC Group’s version of crispy pata.
Other Abe branches are found at Serendra, SM Mall of Asia, Trinoma Mall and Alabang Town Center.
Pinoy lunch meals below P300 at Siklab

Siklab, the all-Filipino restaurant from the Bistro Group, kas launched its Pinoy Lunch Meals: a meal set served with adobong kangkong, iced tea and rice in 10 minutes for under P300.
Diners can choose from Pork BarBQ for P275, Chicken BarBQ for P275, or Lechon Kawali, Beef Caldereta, or Inihaw na Liempo for P295.
