MANILA – Can’t decide where to travel this year? Why not go to Britain?

2. Museums and galleries
London is home to some of the best museums and galleries in the world – many of which are free.
Spend a few hours in the British Museum, Tate Modern, Natural History Museum or the Science Museum, where you can browse the permanent collections at no cost.
3. World heritage sites and film locations
Britain is home to 25 UNESCO World Heritage sites such as the Stonehenge, the Dorset and East Devon Coast and the Tower of London.
It is also one glorious, gorgeous movie set – some of the films that have been shot here are “Harry Potter,” “The Da Vinci Code” and “Pride and Prejudice.”
4. Royal attractions
Get a glimpse of life as a royal in Britain by visiting the Buckingham Palace, which is the official residence of the Queen. The Kensington Palace is also home to many members of the Royal Family.
Other royal attractions here include the Windsor Castle, Westminster Abbey, Balmoral Castle and Estate, Palace of Holyroodhouse, Hampton Court Palace, Edinburgh Castle and Tower of London.
5. Sporting events
Hear the roar of the crowd at a football match, play golf at St. Andrews or discover tennis and tradition at Wimbledon. Football, cricket, rugby, golf – name a sport and there’s a good chance that Brits invented it, wrote the rules or are just plain obsessed by it.
London has the best theater scene in the world. It attracts the very best in acting talent, so don’t be surprised to see some famous faces on the London stage.
Take a pick from long-running musicals, classic plays or brand new works making their West End debut.
See where The Beatles were born, catch the latest British bands in London, Manchester and Glasgow or groove to the sizzling sounds of summer festivals in Britain. From rock to opera and all points in between, music is at the heart and soul of Britain.
8. Food and drink
Explore the vibrant restaurants in towns and cities across the UK, then discover the true taste of Britain in the local specialties that dot the country.
From ancient ale houses to literary drinking dens, Britain has hundreds of historic pubs to explore.
People in Britain know how to have fun – they dress up like Vikings, race through mud and jump off piers in silly outfits. Some British customs are truly quirky, so enter a world of the unusual and get ready to enjoy yourself.
10. Higher education
The UK has a great reputation when it comes to education – four of the top six universities in the world are located here.
It is a popular destination for international students and is well-respected for world-class standards of teaching.
