MANILA, Philippines -- The American kid-friendly restaurant chain Chuck E. Cheese's is set to open its first branch in the country this year.

Lisa Ronquillo, assistant vice president for marketing of The Bistro Group, said the branch, located at the newly renovated Glorietta mall in Makati City, will open its doors to the public before the first quarter of the year ends.

The Bistro Group is known as the home of several international and homegrown casual dining brands including TGI Friday's, Italianni's, Fish & Co., Flapjacks, Pig Out! Krazy Garlik, The Stock Market, Bulgogi Brothers, Ma Maison, Village Tavern, Watami and Modern Shanghai, which was just launched a few days ago.

"We'll soon have Chuck E. Cheese's, which is a family entertainment concept. Think Timezone with food and party function areas," Ronquillo told during the launch of The Bistro Group's newest campaign called "Taste the Love."

"We're opening two this year. The first one will be in Glorietta," she added.

The US-based Chuck E. Cheese's has some 500 branches in different locations such as United Arab Emirates, Chile, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama and Saudi Arabia.

The restaurant is known for offering video games and high-tech simulator rides on top of its family-friendly dishes such as pizza and sandwiches.
