MANILA, Philippines -- Weekend food market Mercato Centrale at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig will reopen this Saturday (January 14) while its night version, Midnight Mercato, will resume operations on Friday (January 13).
Anton Diaz, a co-founder of the food market, also announced in his blog that Midnight Mercato will be open on Wednesdays from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. starting February 1.
"BGC is the place to be in 2012 as the BGC Artificial Football Field is now operational, the Mind Museum is opening this February and the Bonifacio High Street Centrale Restaurants are starting to open one by one. I'm most excited about the Bonifacio High Street Centrale cinema to open this year!" Diaz wrote.
He added that the air-conditioned tent of Mercato Centrale is now open for events, parties, and company functions.
Meanwhile, Diaz announced that the Soderno Market at the Molito Lifestyle Center in Alabang is closing its Saturday market. It will resume operations on Sunday, January 15.
Soderno Nights, however, extended its operations and will be open from Wednesday to Saturday starting next month.
As for the group's Makati food market, Distrito, Diaz said it ended its run last December, but predicted that "2012 is no doubt the year of the food trucks in Manila."
"Please wait for further announcements for the new location of Distrito at Makati," he said.
