MANILA -- Do you already have plans after the requisite Christmas Day lunch with the extended family?

Aside from hitting the malls to spend your Christmas cash gifts or catching one of the entries of this year's Metro Manila Film Festival, here are three special shows you may want to consider.

1. Impossible: World's Greatest Magic Show

When: December 25 to January 3
Where: Araneta Coliseum

Fresh from its run in London’s West End, "Impossible" brings its magic to Manila. Hailed by critics for giving “illusion and magic a brilliant, fresh spin,” the show features six magical acts, fusing death-defying stunts, technological trickery, grand stage illusions and close-up magic in a fast-paced performance.

Ben Hart and Magical Bones made headlines recently as they left Filipino audiences stunned with their up-close magic and sleight of hand tricks during their promo tour in Manila.

“This is a must-see live spectacular for the whole family this coming holiday season,” said executive producer Winston Llamas of Wilbros Live.

Tickets start at P160.

2. Disney on Ice

When: December 25 to January 3
Where: Mall of Asia Arena

Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy take to the ice with their friends from beloved Disney movies that span decades, from “Pinocchio” to “Frozen.”

Guests will also enjoy appearances from characters of “The Lion King,” “Toy Story,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Zootopia,” “Aladdin,” “Finding Nemo,” and “Mulan,” to name a few.

“This particular production is by far the largest ‘Disney on Ice’ show we currently have touring,” said producer Nicole Feld. “Our vision is for audiences everywhere to dance and sing along to their favorite Disney songs, so we’ve included 30 tunes that they know and love.”

Tickets are available at SM Tickets, with prices starting at P190 each.

3. 'A Christmas Carol'

When: December 25 at 7 p.m,, December 26-27 at 8 p.m.
Where: Globe Iconic Bonifacio High Street Amphitheater, Taguig

Globe Live! And 9Works Theatrical are bringing back Alan Menken’s “A Christmas Carol” to spread Christmas cheer to Manila theatergoers.

Miguel Faustmann returns as Ebenezer Scrooge and is joined by new castmembers like Noel Rayos as Scrooge’s business partner Jacob Marley and Franco Laurel as the Ghost of Christmas Past.

True to the spirit of Christmas, the production has partnered with the Heroes Foundation, a non-stock, non-profit group that aims to help kids of our soldiers. A Christmas tree with ornaments for sale will be set up in the theater and all proceeds from the sale will go to the Hero Foundation.

“It’s not about the money, it’s about creating new traditions,” explained Joe Caliro of Globe Live.
