MANILA – Still can't decide on where to hold your Christmas get-together with old friends?
Refinery, which has branches in Rockwell and Greenhills, has made it easier to choose an appropriate venue with an "unlimited wine" promotion for the entire month of December.
Priced at only P500, the promo allows guests to enjoy all the wine they want from 5 p.m. to 12 midnight.
Refinery actually started more as a coffee place serving all-day breakfast. But through the years, it has expanded its product offerings with more alcoholic beverages now on the menu.
That's why chef Thirdy Dolarte decided to come up with new dishes that go well with a night of drinking.
Here's what you can order while sipping wine and enjoying the company of good friends.
The classic Pinoy pulutan gets an upgrade. This crackling doesn't have that greasy taste since it is served freshly popped with a light texture that can go with a crisp white. Even the condiments are more classy with mango-chipotle vinegar and lime salt. Vladimir Bunoan, ABS-CBN News
2. Chicken Liver Brulee
Here's a more sophisticated option that will pair well with a light red or a more oakey white. The liver pate is flavorful with the onion marmalade cutting through the richness. Vladimir Bunoan, ABS-CBN News
3. Salmon Tostada
You may want to order a tequila-based cocktail for this one, although it can also be paired with a full-bodied white. Salmon ceviche is served on a tostada chip with cilantro dressing and tomato-cucumber salsa and sprinkled with some furikake seasoning for a slight Japanese touch. A refreshing and light option. 4. Moroccan Wings
Chef Thirdy prepared two kinds of chicken wings. If you're feeling more adventurous, order the Moroccan Wings, which used a toasted Mediterranean rub and served with lime yogurt and potato wedges, which can go well with a medium-bodied red or a heavier white. Vladimir Bunoan, ABS-CBN News
5. Sweet & Spicy Wings
But if you want something more comforting, these wings topped with toasted peanuts can't miss. Best with beer or a heavier white. Vladimir Bunoan, ABS-CBN News
6. TDF Baked Brie
Another fancy option is the TDF Baked Brie which comes to the table in a skillet and topped with almonds. If you like fried mozzarella, this one takes that to another level. Goes well with a white. Vladimir Bunoan, ABS-CBN News
7. Charcuterie Platter
Can't seem to agree on what to order? This one should take care of that. Take your pick from salchichon pirineo pimienta, jamon serrano, and chorizo Iberico plus almonds, green olives and honey plus toasted baguette. Vladimir Bunoan, ABS-CBN News
8. Cheese Platter
The classic pairing for wine night. This cheese platter has something for everybody with Manchego, goat cheese and brie with green apples, honey and toasted baguette. Vladimir Bunoan, ABS-CBN News
