MANILA -- It was the most wonderful time for a beer during the recently concluded MNL Craft Beer Festival 2017.
The three-day event held at Greenfield District was the largest gathering of local craft brewers in the Philippines. Beer enthusiasts had a blast sampling over 250 freshly brewed craft beer styles from 32 breweries from all over the country. Many brewers also took the opportunity to sell bottled beers, brewing equipment and advertise beer-related services.
For those looking for unique local products for their beerlover friends this Christmas, here are just a few ideas we gathered from the festival.
1. Christmas Beer from Mitchell’s Backyard Brewery
Mitchell’s Backyard Brewery based in Quezon City serves fresh, delicious, and honestly brewed craft beer that will appeal to both casual drinkers and beer geeks alike. Their line-up includes Hoptoberfest, Honey Wheat, Citrus IPA, Belgian Wheat, Mocha Stout and a seasonal Christmas beer infused with a hint of cinnamon (P200/bottle).
The elegant packaging and beer label designs alone make any of these worthy gifts for relatives or friends. Take note that Mitchell’s nearly sold out all their beers during the festival and remaining stocks are limited due to high demand this Holiday season.
Where to get it: Mitchell’s Backyard Brewery beers are sold in branches of Gino’s Brick Oven Pizza (Katipunan Ave., Salcedo Village, The Podium and Serendra). Facebook: Mitchell’s Backyard Brewery
2. Christmas Gift Packs from Nipa Brew
If you don’t know what kind of beer to give someone, you can’t go wrong with a mixed pack! Beverage company Nipa Brew is offering assorted Christmas gift packs that come in convenient gift boxes.
For those curious about craft beer, the Holiday 4-Pack (P550) composed of bestsellers Tropic Haze Wheat Ale, Drop Zone India Brown Ale, Fizzo - Calamansi Jasmine Tea Soda and The Professor's Brew - Hop Flask IPA is a good choice.

As an alternative to a bottle of wine for neighbors, you can opt for Nipa Brew’s larger 610ml Gift Bottles (P200 each), which comes in any of the best seller beer variants.
Nipa Brew also has a collaborative gift pack with designer sock company Proppy. The Proppy Pack (P799) contains 3 craft beers including a special blend IPA (India Pale Ale) packaged with a two pairs of stylish beer-designed socks (P799) perfect for stylish business colleagues.
