MANILA -- Reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach paid a courtesy visit to Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle on Monday.
Wurtzbach visited Tagle in the archbishop's residence in Intramuros to turn over her donations to Caritas Manila, the lead Catholic agency for social services and development of the Archdiocese of Manila.
"We are here for one purpose and it is to serve our brothers and sisters with no other motivation but love," the cardinal said in a report from CBCP News.
"We are happy that a person like you and other celebrities, if we might use that word, are offering whatever you could to support especially the young people in need of education."
The prelate blessed Wurtzbach and gave her a rosary which was a gift from Pope Francis.
The beauty queen donated designer clothes, bags and other accessories, which will be sold at a Christmas bazaar organized by Caritas Manila.
The bazaar will be held at Glorietta 5 in Makati City on December 13 and 14. Proceeds from the bazaar will be used to fund the programs of Caritas Manila for the youth.
