TAGUIG-- For people who are searching for comfort on a plate, a new restaurant is designed to satisfy your cravings just at the heart of the city.

Nestled in Bonifacio Global City, Flat Iron 1771 is a New York style cosmopolitan restaurant that serves urban comfort food hot off the grill.

The restaurant serves classic comfort food with a twist, making its menu familiar yet still relatively new.

"Good comfort food is something that you will crave for during times when you are happy or sad or just plain want to stare at something and just want to eat. It's something familiar to you, to your taste buds," Flat Iron executive chef Vicky Pacheco said.

The menu features classic American favorites such as pizza, grilled cheese sandwich, and pancakes with crispy bacon which cater to a variety of cravings.

However, while the restaurant's core cuisine is American, it also serves dishes with touches of Asian and Mediterranean food such as toasted wings adobo, which merges the flavors of typical Filipino adobo and deep-fried chicken wings.

For the main course, Pacheco recommends their "Brisket sticks," thick cuts of U.S. beef brisket cooked in a griddle and braised in red wine and beef stock. The dish is served with organic brown and red rice sauteed in garlic and onion.

Those who like pizza and pasta can try Pizzaiola, a pizza-flavored pasta dish made with bow-tie pasta cooked with Napolitana sauce, bell peppers, salami, bacon and covered with cheese.

To satisfy a sweet tooth, Flat Iron has an "intense brownie burger" made with coffee ice cream sandwiched between two Swiss chocolate fudge brownies laid on cream cheese sauce, and slathered with chocolate espresso sauce and toffee sauce.

Interested parties can enjoy a meal for two for around P1,500.
