MANILA – Retail, banking, and real estate giant SM opened its first mall in Puerto Princesa, Palawan on Friday as it continues its local expansion.
Crowds flocked to the resort-themed SM City Puerto Princesa, which features around 180 food and retail shops, three 158-seater digital cinemas, two 48-seater Director’s Club cinemas, and a traveler’s lounge.
It is SM’s 64th mall in the country.

Puerto Princesa serves as the gateway to Palawan, which has been dubbed by several international travel magazines as the “best island in the world.”
The new Puerto Princesa airport, which was inaugurated last May, is expected to boost tourism in the area.
