'Mas Mabigat Ang Liwanag Sa Kalungkutan' tells the tale of Bangsamoro youth.

A play that tells the tale of the youth in the proposed Bangsamoro region will be staged in Metro Manila starting September 15.

"Mas Mabigat Ang Liwanag Sa Kalungkutan", a play by Rogelio Braga, was once staged in 2015.

It tackles how the conflict in the region shaped the youth, according to the Office on Bangsamoro Youth Affairs (OBYA).

Members of the UP Repertory Company and Ang Teatro ng Timog Silangang Asya (ATISA) will bring it back to the stage with the help of award-winning actor and director Manuel Mesina III.

“We really believe in this story, because this is our story. It is about our own lives and struggle, and Ogie (Braga) tells it as it is. There is no agenda here other than the truth,” OBYA executive director Amir Mawallil said in a statement.

Catch the play at Teatro Marikina from Sept. 15 to 17. For ticket inquiries, contact Michelle Timaan at 09163981149.
