MANILA – Former Miss Philippines Earth titleholder Imelda Schweighart took to social media to open up about her new life as a mother, explaining why she initially kept her pregnancy a secret.
Schweighart surprised her Instagram followers last week after announcing that she gave birth last July.
“Itinago ko [ang] pagbubuntis ko para 'di ka mapagkaisahan ng mga taong walang awa,” she wrote in a lengthy Instagram post over the weekend, addressing her one-month old son, Sun Noach.
“Kaso anak, 'di ko matiis na ipagmalaki ka dahil hindi kita kayang itago,” she continued. “Kung pagkaisahan man tayo, pasensya ka na, gagawin ko ang lahat para maipagtanggol ka pagdating ng panahon sa legal na paraan.”
Schweighart believes that Sun Noach is her biggest achievement in life, and that her baby is God’s way of easing her “suffering.”
She went on to assure her fellow moms to keep smiling despite the challenges of motherhood, and continue to work hard for their children.
The former beauty queen made headlines when she relinquished her Miss Philippines Earth crown last year.
She drew flak online for bashing the newly crowned Miss Earth Katherine Espin of Ecuador, and for likening President Rodrigo Duterte to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.
