MANILA - Looking for a place to unwind after an exhausting day at work? 

Or are you a student with a limited budget who wishes to find a relaxing place to drink coffee, eat and study? 

Check out these four unique and fun themed cafes that are just within Quezon City.

1. BARKIN' BLENDS DOG CAFE

Spending time inside Barkin' Blends Dog Cafe is a sure treat with its delicious food and friendly dogs.

Owner Bernadette Aboganda hopes that her cafe will help people relieve stress, noting that petting animals can make them feel better. 

Make sure to try their best-sellers such as Big Martha, which is named after one of the cafe's beloved dogs. The huge beef burger has ham, potato wedges, cheese, mayonnaise, catsup, and lettuce.

The Pasta Carbonara is another must-try dish here, as well as the Golden Salted Egg Wings.

Barkin' Blends is located at J&R Concon Center along 91 Rosa Alvero Street in Loyola Heights, Quezon City. The cafe is open from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. every day except Tuesdays.

2. CAT CAFE MANILA

Cat lovers unite! Cat Cafe Manila is the perfect place for those who wish to have food and drinks with feline friends.

The space is cozy and decorated with several cat-themed items. Customers are free to interact with the cats for a rate of ₱200 per hour. Half of the amount goes to the CARA foundation, an animal
protection organization, while the remaining ₱100 is consumable.

A customer favorite here is the Matcha Green Tea served in an adorable orange cat mug, as well as the Rainbow Cat and Clawcollate Cupcakes.

Cat Cafe Manila is located at 189 Maginhawa St. corner Makadios St. in Sikatuna Village, Quezon City. It is open every day from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

3. CHEMISTEA

Elders say you shouldn't play with your food, but Chemistea provides their customers to opportunity to experiment with their drinks.

Customers can express their inner chemist in this cafe and milk tea store, which serves drinks in beakers and flasks. 

Some of their best-sellers include the Cryo Smores (blended coffee topped with graham crackers and roasted marshmallows, and drizzled with chocolate sauce), Matcha Hulk (green tea topped with Milo powder), and Experiment (black tea served in an Erlenmeyer flask accompanied with test tubes filled with almond syrup, corn syrup, and sugar, along with milk in a small beaker).

Chemistea is located at Legacy Building along 44 Shorthorn Street, Bahay Toro, Project 8, Quezon City. The cafe is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays, and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. A new branch of Chemistea will open in September near University of Santo Tomas. 

4. THE NOOK CAFE

With its Harry Potter-themed decor, The Nook Cafe is a haven for fans of all ages.

Here, customers are given the opportunity to dress up as wizards from their beloved Harry Potter series. The Harry Potter-inspired staircase leads to cozy seats perfect with a good book and a serving of the cafe's popular Butterbeer.

Those who are not fans of the Harry Potter books can still have a good time at The Nook Cafe, which also has a selection of other books.
