DAVAO CITY - Chocolates from Davao City received another silver medal from the Academy of Chocolates in London.
During the 9th Academy of Chocolates Awards this month, Malagos Chocolate received the award for their 100 percent unsweetened chocolate in the hot chocolate category.
This is Malagos Chocolate's fifth award. Malagos Chocolate was the 2-Star Winner of the 2016 Great Taste competition. In April 2016, it also snatched a silver award for Best Unflavoured Drinking Chocolate at the 2016 Academy of Chocolate Awards. It won a bronze award in the same category at the competition in 2015.
"Patok ang chocolates natin because of the raw material sa paggawa ng cacao, yung cacao beans is with world class quality," says Rex Puentespina, the chocolate maker of Malagos Chocolate.
Malagos Chocolate also opened the first chocolate museum in the country, which features the tree to bar chocolate experience. Guests at the museum also get the chance to make their own chocolates.
Meanwhile Malagos Garden Resort's latest attraction is the chocolate spa which uses Malagos chocolates.
Leg and foot massage is at P500 per treatment while cacao facial care is P800 per treatment.
Gracelyn Madrazo said the experience was amazing and it felt good on her skin.
Malagos Chocolate produces 12 tons of chocolates every month but they hope to increase their production to satisfy increasing demand.
