MANILA – Sorry, fans! The recent meeting of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach with ABS-CBN executives has nothing to do with the upcoming “Darna” movie.
Wurtzbach’s mentor, Jonas Gaffud, replied with a simple “no” when asked if the beauty queen will take on the role of the Filipino superheroine in an interview with ABS-CBN News and other reporters on Wednesday.
Recalling their meeting with ABS-CBN executives last week, he said: “Talks lang about her future kasi galing siya ng ABS-CBN.”
Aside from ABS-CBN, other networks have also expressed interest in getting Wurtzbach to star in a movie, according to Gaffud.
“May mga TV station na gusto sa kanyang kumuha for movies, so kailangan pa naming [ayusin],” he said.
For now, Gaffud said they are busy with Wurtzbach’s endorsement shoots – five so far – and the beauty queen’s stint as a USAID Goodwill Ambassador.
He added that they are also working on the Miss Universe 2015 titleholder’s “branding” in the United States.
During the 65th Miss Universe pageant held in Manila last January, it was announced that Wurtzbach has signed a contract with the New York-based talent company IMG Universe.
