MANILA – The Ateneo Art Gallery (AAG) has formally opened its doors.

Located inside the creative hub Areté of the Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City, AAG currently has three exhibitions in its various galleries, each focusing on a theme, person, and period.

On the upper ground floor is “Love It and Leave It: A Legacy of Gifts to the Ateneo Art Gallery,” a permanent exhibit featuring works from donors to AAG since the 1960s.

“Elmer Borlongan Draws the Line” is located on the second floor and features the artist’s work from the 1970s until today. These include drawings in pencil, charcoal, pen, and ink, as well as watercolor and selected paintings from his collection and private lenders.

Meanwhile, “The 70s: Objects, Photographs, and Documents” is a period-based exhibit of experimental photography and installation art curated by Ringo Bunoan.

Featured artists include Raymundo Albano, Huge Bartolome, Joe Bautista, Danilo Dalena, Joy Dayrit, Nath Gutierrez, Nap Jamir, Johnny Manahan, Red Mansueto, Fernando Modesto, Butch Perez, Yolanda Perez-Johnson, and Judy Sibayan.

AAG is open to the public from Tuesday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Sundays, the museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is closed on Mondays and holidays.
