Man killed in Abra polling precinct shooting

A shooting incident in a polling precinct in Abra left one man dead.

The fatality, identified as Zacharias Manuel, was shot dead inside the polling precinct in Barangay Pang-ot in Lagayan, Monday morning.

The victim's wife suspects the killing of Manuel was politically motivated, noting that her husband was a supporter of incumbent Lagayan Mayor Jendricks Luna.

Two other people, including a poll watcher identified as Milfred Viloria, also sustained injuries. Viloria was hit on the head with a gun by one of the suspects.

Authorities said one man and one woman were arrested after they were caught in possession of firearms.

Due to the incident, voting was temporarily halted in the polling precinct.
