Close fight for mayor in Manila, Makati, San Juan

(UPDATED, AS OF 9:09 PM RESULTS) It's a close fight among prominent mayoralty candidates in the cities of Manila, Makati and San Juan, based on partial and unofficial results of the May 9, 2016 elections.

As of 9:09 p.m. Monday, the leading candidates for mayor in Manila and San Juan were only separated by about 2,000 votes.

The two leading candidates in Makati, meanwhile, had less than 15,000 votes between them.

The election results are sourced from the poll body's Transparency Server.

In Manila, incumbent Mayor and former President Joseph "Erap" Estrada was ahead of former Mayor Alfredo Lim with 261,373 votes, around 2,000 votes higher than the latter's 259,114.

Rep. Amado Bagatsing was third with 155,929 votes. Each of the eight other candidates in the city only had three-digit votes.

In Makati, Vice President's Jejomar Binay's daughter, Rep. Abigail Binay, was leading with 141,040.

Liberal Party's Romulo "Kid" Peña followed with 126,285 votes. Jimmy Jumawan only has 1,566.

In San Juan, re-electionist Mayor Guia Gomez, the mother of Estrada's son, Senator JV Ejercito, had 28,233 votes, only over 1,000 votes higher than her former ally, Francis Zamora's 27,174.
