Pulse Asia survey: Alma Moreno in top 20 senatorial bets

MANILA -- Following her viral interview with Karen Davila on ANC, actress-politician Alma Moreno has made it to the top 20 senatorial candidates in the latest Pulse Asia nationwide survey. 

In the November 8-15, 2015 Pulse Asia survey for ABS-CBN, respondents were asked: "Sa mga taong nasa listahang ito, sinu-sino ang inyong iboboto bilang SENADOR NG PILIPINAS kung ang eleksyon ng 2016 ay gaganapin ngayon at sila ay mga kandidato? Pwedeng kayong pumili ng hanggang 12 pangalan."  

The follow-up question was: "May narinig, nabasa, o napanood na ba kayong kahit na ano tungkol sa mga sumusunod o wala pa?"

The question now is, has the viral interview helped Moreno in increasing her popularity?

Moreno placed 18th-20th in the survey, with 15.4% saying they will vote for her if the 2016 elections were held during the period,

Apart from Moreno, other notable celebrities also made it to the top 20. These are Philippines' fighting Congressman Manny Pacquiao (7-10), Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno, and TV host-actor Edu Manzano (14-18).

TV-host senator Tito Sotto topped the list, followed by Panfilo Lacson (2-3), Ralph Recto (2-6), Francis Pangilinan (3-6), Franklin Drilon (3-7), Juan Miguel Zubiri (3-7), Sergio Osmeña III (5-9), and Teofisto Guingona III (8-10).

A total of 1,200 respondents nationwide were included latest Pulse Asia survey for ABS-CBN, which had an error margin of +/-3.

VIRAL INTERVIEW

The actress-turned-politician was interviewed by the "Headstart" host on November 11. A few days after, the interview went viral due to the "awkward" moments when Moreno failed to answer some questions.

In the interview, Davila asked Moreno if she supports the Reproductive Health (RH) Law.

Moreno said, "Oo naman."

"Yes in all forms or yes with reservations?" Davila then asked.

Moreno laughed before answering: "Yes with reservations."

"Then, what are your reservations?" Davila asked.

"Kailangan pa bang sagutin?" Moreno asked.

"Of course, you are running for the Senate," Davila replied.
