#NoFilter: Did Duterte go too far?

Presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte’s outrageous campaign statements and 'kissing spree' can only go so far before the public gets sick of them, a political analyst says.

Speaking on ANC's #NoFilter, Teddy Boy Locsin said Duterte kissing a lot of women during campaigns is a dangerous move.

“It’s dangerous to do that because if someone recoils from you, mahirap yan, like if I reach a baby when I would campaign, I wanna make sure that they will give it to me,” Locsin said.

Locsin also said, just like what happened to former President Joseph "Erap" Ejercito Estrada, Duterte's outrageous statements could be the cause of his downfall.

“I’ve always believed this, how did a man like Erap who won by the largest popular vote in the democratic history, why did he fail? Because he made outrageous statements. Apparently people love you when you do that but then when the crisis comes, they say ‘throw him out,'” he said.

Meanwhile, UP Professor Prospero "Popoy" De Vera believes Duterte's actions pose a dilemma to his running-mate, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, and sister, Senator Pia Cayetano.

“Alan Cayetano is really having a difficulty because Alan projects himself as somebody who’s religious, I know that Pia Cayetano is having great difficulty now because they’re asking Pia Cayetano to endorse Duterte but how can you endorse Duterte if he is kissing everybody and doing that and saying that you’ll put two women in Malacanang,” De Vera said.
