MANILA, Philippines - A Hong Kong-based overseas Filipino worker will get the chance to spend Christmas with five members of her family in her host country for free.

Overseas Filipino worker Lilia Junio was selected as the winner of AirAsia’s video contest.

Junio’s entry was among the 200 video entries for the promo "Paskong kay saya hatid ng AirAsia". The winning entry was chosen by celebrity singer and multimedia artist, Jim Paredes.

“I had a difficult time choosing the winner for AirAsia’s contest because almost all the entries were heartwarming and they carried wonderful and inspiring messages about Filipino family. Lilia’s story, however, stood out because of her sincerity, dedication and indomitable spirit,” Paredes said.

The native of Pangasinan has been working in Hong Kong as a domestic worker for 13 years.

AirAsia launched the video contest in Chater Road, Hong Kong in October this year. Some 200 Filipino workers participated and filmed their answers to the promo question: What Christmas experience do you want to give to your family in Hong Kong?
“As a Filipino low cost carrier, we feel strongly about supporting our Filipino workers abroad. To brighten up the yuletide celebration of our modern-day heroes, AirAsia is flying five family members of our lucky OFW to Hong Kong with free accommodations,” Head of Commercial for AirAsia Inc. Freddy Herrera said.
Meanwhile, AirAsia is increasing its flight frequency from Clark International Airport to Hong Kong from daily or 7 times a week to 10 times a week.

Starting December 15, AirAsia will service the additional Clark-Hong Kong evening route with brand new Airbus A320 operated by well-trained and experienced flight and cabin crew. The evening flights are every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
