CALIFORNIA - Friends and family of the beloved Elizabeth Ramsey gathered in the San Francisco Bay Area to celebrate her life and offer prayers on her 40th day memorial at the St. James de Apostle Catholic Church in Freemont, California.

Ramsey's daughter, Sansu, calls her mother an innovator for finding success at a young age in the 1950s. Her mother's career spanned over 56 years on stage, television, and film.

"She broke that boundary. You don't have to be pretty. You don't have to be light skinned person. You don't have to be a well-known person. But just to make it because of your talent---that's what made mom...that's why her legacy will move on and it will be a good inspiration for young people," she said.

Sansu said her mother has always been generous.

"The last one she did was a volunteer work in a lot of the homeless people in the Philippines and also here in the St. James Apostles Church, we had a fundraising for the church," she said.

She said she and her family are comforted by all the support from fans around the world.

"Please don't forget. Keep her into your hearts forever," she asked fans.

Ramsey is survived by her four children and six grandchildren.
