MANILA, Philippines – The remains of an overseas Filipino worker killed by her husband in Israel arrived in Iloilo on Monday night.
The family of Elsie Lagunday became emotional when the casket bearing her remains arrived at the Iloilo airport.
Lagunday’s brother said it is still hard for them to accept what happened to victim at the very hands of her husband, Modechai Chaim.
Based on the death certificate, Lagunday was stabbed on the neck and body last September 18 at the couple’s residence in Israel.
Her family in the Philippines urged the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) to help them gain custody of Lagunday’s four-year old son in Israel.
OWWA is still verifying if Lagunday was a member so that benefits will be given to her family. Report from John Fernandez, ABS-CBN News
