LONDON - Pinoys were served a concoction of comedy and music last month when Ai-Ai Delas Alas and other performers from the Philippines came to the UK.

The TFC queen of laughs was joined by Pinay girl band PYT (Pretty Young Thing), comedian Kim Idol and heartthrob Aljur Abrenica for the tour entitled Ai-Ai Got More Talent.

The group began their three-leg tour in Manchester on September 28, followed by Newport in South Wales on the 29th.

The final leg was held at the Troxy, a concert hall in east London on the 30th.

Local based Filipino singers and dancers warmed up the audience before PYT kicked off the main acts.

The group, dubbed the Philippines' answer to Destiny's Child, gave a high energy performance while belting out tracks like Run The World (Girls), Filipino hits like Nosi Balasi, as well as Di Na Maibabalik from their debut album "Caught in the Act".

Ai-Ai joked about her experiences with the British accent before inviting members of the audience on stage to sing and participate in a comedy routine.

One Pinoy volunteer became the unwitting feature of Ai-Ai's quips when he answered a question in English, but got the tenses mixed up. Her response: "Magtagalog na ka kasi."

Aside from cracking jokes, Ai-Ai also displayed her vocal abilities when she sang hits from Pinoy band Aegis and Swedish group ABBA.

Comedian Kim Idol followed and left the audience in stitches with his stand-up routine, which included various impersonations of roaring dinosaurs.

Aljur Abrenica finished the show by serenading females, who swooned over the 22-year old actor when he went for a walk among the crowd.

The tour was deemed a success. Ai-Ai, who had previously performed in the UK, was grateful for the support.

"I feel so glad. All of them I think are happy and if they're happy I'm so happy."

"It's a good thing that all of the Pinoys are still coming to watch me and the rest of the guys who had this show tonight"

For PYT, it was the first time the trio had been to the UK and they enjoyed the experience.

"Sobrang overwhelming kasi this is our first time here, so sobrang na-mesmerize kami with the places that we went to and the Filipinos here are super nice," Nichole Enriquez said.

"We're really, really happy," added lead-singer Ava Jane Jugueta.

The Ai-Ai Got More Talent tour was organized by UK-based group Global Star & Management Limited. This was their third outing after last year's event headlined by ABS-CBN's Vice Ganda.

CEO Rannie Castillo said: "We Filipinos, we have this culture and tradition that we're always engaging in entertainment."

He explained they picked Ai-Ai this year because of her popularity among Pinoys.

"Miss Ai-Ai has a big impact on the community. Once you've heard [it's] Ai Ai Delas Alas, people will go to her concert."

Castillo also paid tribute to all the other performers.

"They're all wonderful. These three girls, PYT, they're very dynamic. Kim Idol, my God, he's good, and Aljur Abrenica. They were all good, fantastic."

Global Star & Management Limited said it is currently in the planning stages of holding more events in 2013 that will bring more Filipino performers to the UK.
