‘The Mistress’ screening in US extended
SAN BRUNO, California - The fans asked for it and now they got it. Moviegoers have flocked select theatres nationwide for the showing of Star Cinema's latest movie offering, "The Mistress".
Screenings have been extended until October 4.
At the Century Theatres in Tanforan Mall, fans could not wait to watch their favorites, Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz, who are celebrating their 10th year as a love team.
"Their love team is a hit because they're so believable and credible as actors," Linda Castro said.
Century Theatres at Tanforan said, to date, The Mistress holds their biggest opening weekend.
The blockbuster movie tells the story of a man who pursues a woman, not knowing that she leads a complicated life, as the mistress of an older married man, played by Ronaldo Valdez. Hilda Koronel, who is making a comeback in this film, plays wife to Valdez' character.
After the movie, fans said The Mistress definitely did not disappoint.
Lisa Bauer may not understand Tagalog, but she said she felt the pain these ill-fated lovers were going through.
"Their emotions and their acting --- I felt like I could follow along for most of the story. It was so moving. I was crying. It was so romantic," she said.
