Consular services extended to Pinoys in Oamaru

MANILA – Hundreds of Filipinos based in Oamaru and surrounding areas in South Islands, New Zealand benefited from the Philippine Embassy's mobile consular services.

Called "The Philippine Embassy in New Zealand: Serving with a Smile, Going the Extra Mile and Reaching Beyond Our Grasp", the outreach mission accommodated a total of 416 Filipinos availing themselves of various consular services like e-passport application and renewal, authentication, notarials, dual citizenship and NBI/police clearance certification.

"The Philippine embassy will continue to reach out to them through our mobile consular services and dialogue, demonstrate its caring and sharing spirit and bring the Embassy's services closer to more than 36,000 Filipinos here," said Ambassador Virginia Benavidez.

To date, the embassy has conducted 18 mobile consular services for the benefit and convenience of 7,203 Filipinos throughout the North and South Islands in New Zealand.

Members of the Filipino community in Oamaru and South Island appreciated the embassy's effort to reach out to Pinoys.
