PH bags gold in world fireworks championships

MANILA - The Philippines, represented by Dragon Fireworks, Inc., bagged the 2013 edition of the Pyronale Fireworks World Championships at the Berlin Olympic Stadium last September 7.

The gold medal winning effort, entitled "Philippines-Here Comes the Dragon," was applauded by thousands who watched the event. The Philippine entry also received the audience award for the evening.

The Philippine team's choreographed performance included songs from Angeline Quinto ("Piliin mo ang Pilipinas"), Carol Banawa ("Tanging Yaman"), and the Tinikling folk dance.

The performance was designed by Vander Tenedero, a 20-year-old business student.

Before the event, the team led paid a courtesy call on Philippine Ambassador to Germany Maria Cleofe Natividad in Berlin.

The Dragon Fireworks Inc. team was composed:
