MANILA, Philippines - A group of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) throws its support behind government's campaign to reach a million overseas absentee voters to take part in the 2013 elections.
Migrante Middle East said it has instructed its representatives in various countries to personally speak with OFWs to explain the value of their vote and encourage them to register for next year's polls.
The deadline for OAV registration is on October 31.
The Department of Foreign Affairs said there are nearly 250,000 new OAVs this year compared to 2010.
The DFA records show as of August 31, some 839,000 OAVs have registered for next year's elections. Dateline Philippines
