MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) on Tuesday said it will look into reports that 10,000 jobs are available in Saudi Arabia’s healthcare industry.
“Makikipag-ugnayan din po ako doon sa recruitment agency at sa POEA (Philippine Overseas Employment Administration) para po malinaw itong mga lumabas sa mga dyaryo na mga job openings baka kasi puno na din yan,” said Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz.
In an interview on radio dzMM, the DOLE chief said she only knows the demand was only for 1,000 and not 10,000.
“1,000 ang sinasabi nila doon sa isang press release at hindi naman 10,000,” said Baldoz said.
Baldoz was referring to the job orders of LBS Recruitment Solutions which is hiring Filipino nurses and other healthcare workers for employment in Saudi Arabia.
“Yan ay kanilang manpower needs over a certain period of time. Ang pagkakaalam ko 2 years ang validity ng kanilang job orders,” explained Baldoz.
Meanwhile, Baldoz vouched for the credibility of the agency.
“Maayos na ahensiya yan,” Baldoz said. “Ang itse-check lang natin kung ito bang napabalitang job orders na open for filling up ay talagang ready na for filling-up”. – Reports from radio dzMM and ANC
