MANILA - A Filipino-American hairstylist is giving back by doing something he is pretty good at: giving a haircut.

Mark Bustos's Sunday routine was reported by The Huffington Post.

The report said Bustos spends his day off walking the streets of New York City to offer less fortunate people a haircut.

The good deed began in 2012 during a visit to the Philippines. He said he gave poor children a haircut while there and decided to spread the good act back in the US.

According to his Facebook account, Bustos is a celebrity hair artist at the Three Square Studio and studied cosmetology at Artistic Academy, A Depasquale Company.

He shares photos of his clients on his Instagram account using the hashtag #BeAwesomeToSomebody#NYC.

Of the many people he had helped and continues to help, the 30-year old Fil-Am said he can never forget Jemar Banks. He gave Banks a haircut two months ago at Tompkins Square Park.

After he showed him what he looked like after the haircut, Banks asked him if he knows anyone hiring.

New York is not the only place where he conducts his free services. He has also been to other areas including California and Jamaica.
