REDWOOD CITY, California – A 63-year old Filipino caregiver was shot and killed by his patient on Tuesday evening in Alaska.
The Filipino was identified as Eduardo Escalante.
Court documents released Wednesday revealed that Paul Miller, 51, dialed 911 Tuesday evening from an assisted living home and admitted to shooting his Filipino caretaker.
Police found Miller waiting outside of the home with a semi-automatic handgun and found the body of Escalante with multiple gunshot wounds to his neck, arm and torso.
While a motive has yet to be determined, Miller was taken into custody and charged with first and second degree murder.
Escalante and his wife just moved to the United States from the Philippines last March.
