MANILA – Prominent Filipino-American immigration lawyer Ted Laguatan will be sharing his views on pressing issues in the US that are relevant to Filipinos.
Organized by the Democrats Abroad Philippines, the event is scheduled at 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Elks Club in Makati.
Laguatan is expected to tackle the Philippine-China-US relationship, delve into immigration issues in the US, and talk about why US Democratic Party initiatives are best for the United States as well as the Philippines.
The lawyer is a founding member of US Pinoys for Good Governance, a US-based group dedicated to working toward the highest standards of governance and morality in Philippine government.
Together with Filipino-American leaders Loida Nicolas-Lewis and Atty. Rodel Rodis, they founded the Global Filipino Diaspora Council and also helped Filipinos in Europe establish the European Network of Filipinos in the Diaspora (ENDFID).
Last April, Laguatan was invited by President Benigno Aquino III and President Barack Obama to attend the recent state dinner in honor of the US president.
Laguatan has been honored by the California State Bar as among the best of the best lawyers in America. He is one of the 29 California lawyers officially certified continuously for 25 years as experts in immigration law.
