MANILA - A group composed of three Filipina teenagers was booted out during the first live show of The X Factor Australia.
"Trill" members Sheralyn Hill, Angel Tairua, and Jessica Jade were sent home by the judges on Monday's show.
"We've had the most amazing time being on the show and have had so much fun and learnt so much. Working with Dannii [Minogue] has been incredible and we're so excited for Australia to see what we will do next," the group said.
Trill, who impressed the judges with their audition, landed in the bottom two with fellow contestant Adrien Nookadu. In the end, it was Nookadu who was saved by the judges.
Only one Filipina remains on X Factor - 14-year-old Marlisa Punzalan who is the youngest contestant on the show.
During Monday's show, Punzalan sang her rendition of Celine Dion's "All by Myself".
"That was unbelievable," said Ronan Keating, who is Punzalan's mentor.
"You look like an absolute star," Minogue added.
But both female judges--Minogue and Natalie Bassingthwaighte-- were in agreement that the song choice did not fit Punzalan.
Nevertheless, judge Redfoo said Punzalan's performance was amazing.
"She nailed it. I think it was amazing. You surprised me because this was the best," he said.
