MANILA, Philippines - Passport applicants who were unable to file their applications due bad weather the past few days may come at the Office of Consular Affairs anytime time until Friday next week, August 17.
The DFA made the announcement to accommodate applicants who were affected by the inclement weather which brought floods to most part of Metro Manila and in provinces in Luzon.
“The Department of Foreign Affairs-Office of Consular Affairs (DFA-OCA) announces its extended schedule for passport applicants who were unable to file their applications last August 7 (Tuesday) and 8 (Wednesday), and those scheduled on August 9 and on August 10 due to the inclement weather and resulting flood situation,” the DFA-OCA stated on its website.
“Those scheduled on the abovementioned dates may come to the DFA-OCA at anytime and have their passport applications processed until Friday next week, August 17,” it added.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said the death toll in the heavy rains caused by the enhanced southwest monsoon rose to 49.
The heavy rains have affected a total of 2,110,871 people in 16 provinces in the country, according to the NDRRMC.
