NEW YORK - An unidentified patient at Mount Sinai Hospital is being tested for the deadly Ebola virus.
The unnamed man was admitted with high fever, gastrointestinal problems and told doctors that he had recently traveled to West Africa.
The patient is now in strict isolation and is undergoing medical screening, according to hospital officials.
Balitang America reached out to a few Filipinos who work at Mount Sinai. Many of them said that while having a potential Ebola case in New York may be a scary thought, they feel safe and confident with the strict isolation precautions taken by the hospital.
A Mount Sinai spokesperson said that all the necessary steps are being taken to ensure the safety of patients, visitors and staff.
