SAUDI ARABIA – A Filipino couple based in Riyadh waited 17 years before they were blessed with their first born.

“Tuwang-tuwa kami nung nagka-anak kami pero may sakit din pala siya. Masakit talaga,” said Imelda Agcaoili Guzman.

Their daughter Marilda was diagnosed with chronic liver disease and Alagille Syndrome, an inherited disorder that affects the liver, heart, skeleton, eyes and kidneys.

The Guzman family needs help for the operation of their 4 year old daughter who was diagnosed with Alagille Syndrome and Chronic Liver disease
The couple fears that the condition of their four-year-old will worsen. They said their daughter’s stomach is getting bigger and her eyes are showing a yellowish discoloration.

“Kung kukunin na ni Lord anong magagawa ko? Pero nandun pa din yung pag-asa ko kay Lord na alam ko papagalingin niya,” said Imelda.

The couple is ready to return to the Philippines and sell the house and lot they invested in Pangasinan for the operation of their child. A doctor said their daughter needs to undergo an operation soon.

They are also appealing to good-hearted Filipinos for help.

“Kung sino man ang magandang loob na tutulong sa amin ay taos-puso naming tatangapin po,” said Mario.

Advocacy group Patnubay also wrote a letter to the Prince Sultan Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Foundation to request for a free liver transplant operation.

Those who may want to help the family may send in their donations to the Banco de Oro Dagupan City Branch in Pangasinan under the account of Imelda A. Guzman, 6640028653. Report from Roland Blanco, ABS-CBN Middle East News Bureau
