Forum on human trafficking to be held in Manila

MANILA, Philippines – Hundreds of local and international anti-human trafficking advocates will converge for a two-day forum in Manila.

The Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC), Not For Sale (NFS) International and partner organizations will hold the 2nd Asia-Pacific Forum on Human Trafficking on July 19-20 at Victory Malate, Harrison Plaza Village Square, Pablo Ocampo cor Mabini streets in Malate.

The forum will feature townhall-format discussions led by both local and international resource persons who are at the forefront in the battle against slavery.

Justice Secretary Leila De Lima will be representing President Aquino as the event’s keynote speaker.

Other speakers include US Ambassador to the Philippines Harry Thomas, NFS president Dr. David Batstone, PCEC National Director Bishop Efraim Tendero,  General Secretary Sabir Farhat of the Pakistani Rural Workers Social Welfare Organization, Dr. Dosoung Choi, advisor of the Korean Capital Market Institute, Christiaan Bosman, co-founder, Open Hand India, Cecilia Oebanda, executive director of the Visayan Forum Foundation, and Andrey Sawchenko, National Director of the International Justice Mission Philippines.
