SAUDI ARABIA – A Filipina household service worker has been rescued after she was allegedly raped by her employer's brother just two days into her job.
"Nena," not her real name, arrived in Taif, several kilometers away from Jeddah, on April 26, 2015.
She said that she had no problems with her employer who even gave her a new cellphone to replace her old one that got broken.
"Pero iyon lang po, after two days, na-rape po ako ng kapatid niya na bumisita lang sa kanila," she said.
She said the suspect raped her around 10 in the morning while her female employer was still asleep and her male boss left for work.
"Wala po akong magawa kasi naisalya ako sa dingding," she said.
She sought the help of the consulate through community leader Red Bual.
"Hanggang makakuha na po ako ng tiyempong makatakas nitong June 24 ng gabi, mga past 11 na po, tapos hanggang madala ako dito sa consulate," Nena said.
Nena does not want to file a case against her employer's brother. All she wants is to be repatriated safely back to her family in the Philippines. Report from Charles Tabbu, ABS-CBN Middle East News Bureau
