MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Sunday raised Alert Level 3 in the Gaza Strip as the deadly conflict between Israel and Hamas continues.

This means the estimated 109 Filipinos there are being urged to return home.

The Philippine government will shoulder the repatriation costs, and embassies in Cairo, Tel Aviv and Amman will assist the Filipinos who will be leaving Gaza.

Alert Level 1 remains raised in the West Bank and in southern and central Israel, according to the DFA.

Filipinos in those areas are advised to remain on alert and take the necessary precautions.
