Pinoys in Japan warned against illegal solicitation

MANILA – The Philippine Embassy in Japan reminded Filipinos to be wary of people soliciting donations allegedly for children in the Philippines.

“The Philippine embassy reminds everyone that all fundraising activities should be done in accordance with Japanese law and the relevant regulations of the Prefectures,” the embassy stated.

The embassy further requested the public to exercise caution and judgment when approached by certain people who request donations for some charity organizations or activity.

There are about 243,136 Filipinos working as permanent, temporary, and irregular workers in Japan according to the Commission on Overseas Filipinos.
