BRUSSELS, Belgium - She may have been inactive in showbiz for quite some time, but singer-actress Tina Paner still proves to be a crowd drawer.
Paner’s supposed quiet visit to a Filipino-owned restaurant in Brussels turned out to be a mini concert when she was requested by her fans to perform.
Fans became nostalgic when she sang “Tamis ng Unang Halik” which, according to Paner, was her “first and last” single.
Some even grooved to her other song, “Let’s Dance”.
In an interview with ABS-CBN Europe News Bureau, Paner said she still has some singing engagements in Europe, performing mostly in Filipino events.
While she enjoys performing for her fans, she said her family remains her priority.
"Komo hindi lang ako naging active is because may anak ako,” the singer-actress said.
Paner admitted that she misses the Philippines, but maintained that she is happy and contented with her life in Barcelona, Spain where she and her 9-year old daughter are based.
"Naa-adopt ko na rin yung buhay sa Barcelona, para ka na ring di umalis sa Pilipinas kasi halos Pilipino na rin ang nakikita mo. Aside from Spanish, may mga nakikita ka ring Pilipino,” she said.
Apart from singing, Paner is busy with her own travel agency.
Emotional over Dolphy
Meanwhile, Paner became emotional over the health condition of Comedy King Dolphy.
Dolphy and Paner worked together in a 1989 film titled “May Pulis, May Pulis Sa Ilalim ng Tulay”.
“Kung ano 'yung nakikita nyo sa kanya sa TV, 'yun din sya sa personal. Mabait na tao, masayahin. Palabiro sa set at talagang aasikasuhin niya lahat ng mga kasama niya from staff, sa boss pati na rin sa mga artist,” she said.
As for her message to the Quizon family, Paner said, “Be strong and just keep on praying. Kasi through prayers, 'yun lang naman 'yung makakatulong para maging safe siya,” she said.
