Pope appoints Filipino archbishop to UN
REDWOOD CITY, California – Pope Francis has chosen a Filipino Archbishop to be the Vatican’s envoy to the United Nations.
Bohol native Archbishop Bernardito Auza will be the Vatican’s permanent observer at the New York-based United Nations.
Auza was Apostolic Nuncio to Haiti.
According to the Vatican, the involvement with the United Nations allows the Catholic church to assist it in its realization of peace, justice, human dignity and humanitarian cooperation and assistance.
