CALIFORNIA - On a rare break from her busy teleserye schedule, actress Jaclyn Jose recently visited her ailing sister in California.

Since she entered showbiz in the mid-80s, many have admired Jose's ability to portray memorable characters on film and TV.

In recent years, the usually private star found herself in the spotlight for a different reason.

When her only daughter's pregnancy became controversial, people saw her maternal instincts kicked in as she defended her family.

She considers her granddaughter Ellie is the love of her life.

"She's very busy," Jose said referring to her daughter, Andi Eigenmann. "She's enjoying her time and at the same time she's working hard for her daughter. My apo is so cute. I'm here naman to help her out. I'm a proud grandma," she said.

Andi is currently appearing in ABS-CBN's Dyesabel.

Jose said she can never forgive Ellie's father.

"I don't think I could ever talk to them or even see them. Grabe ang ginawa nila sa anak ko and I'll never forgive him. Pero si Ellie lang ang magpapalambot ng puso ko," she said.

She said she wants to do independent movies when her soap opera schedule eases up.

"I just want to continue working kasi hinahanap na ng system, ng katawan. Parang I couldn't imagine myself not acting anymore for the rest of my life," Jose said.

Apart from acting, her life now revolves around her son and Andi'e daughter, Ellie. But she said she is not completely closing her doors on the possibility of falling in love again.

"Sila na lang yung life ko. Ok na sa akin yung tatlo kong alaga," she said.
