Pinoy bridal gown designer shines in Jeddah

Cris Gentica III receives an award from Princess Shaikha Noura Bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa Said of Bahrain.

SAUDI ARABIA –A Filipino overseas worker has earned praises for the success of the 10th Bride Show 2014 that drew both local and international visitors to the Hilton hotel in Jeddah recently.

"We have a very good designer from the Philippines. He is doing all of these designs. Cris is a very good designer here in Jeddah," said Ahmad Sanfiny, an IT specialist at Aljonah Group.

Sanfiny was referring to Filipino Cris Gentica III, whose floral bridal ensemble has been the talk of the town.

Gentica is head of the Arts Concept Department of the Aljonas group.

"Ipinagmamalaki po namin ang gawang Pinoy na pang world-class," Genetica said.

His beautiful creation also caught the attention of Princess Shaikha Noura Bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa Said of Bahrain.

The three-day annual exhibit was established to help soon to be couples plan and prepare their wedding which is deemed as a huge family event in Saudi Arabia.

"Nagpapasalamat kami at nakasali kami sa bazaar na ito at ipinagmamalaki natin ang gawang Pinoy," said skin specialist, Berna Engson, of Derma Clinic.

Glaiza Napiza, consultant of Beauty & Cosmetics Saloon added, "Maligaya kami na ang Pilipino ay hindi nahuli sa ganitong event". Report from Francis Nuique Jr, ABS-CBN Middle East News Bureau
