MIAMI BEACH, Florida - Despite belonging to Hollywood royalty as an in-demand and Oscar-winning actress, Anne Hathaway is known for supporting humanitarian causes.
She famously donated the proceeds of the sale of her wedding photos to charity.
The "Les Miserables" star inquired about the status of tyhoon Yolanda survivors even before the cameras rolled.
"You know, it's a devastating thing that the Philippines have gone through. I keep them in my prayers everyday," she said.
Though busy with her career, Hathaway prioritizes her marriage to actor-producer Adam Shulman.
"Well, I'm a newlywed so my husband and I are at that stage in our life when we're trying to make a home. But right now, as long as we'll have each other and our dogs there, we could be anywhere and we'll be able to chill out and get that home feeling," she said.
This week, she will be singing and acting once again on the big screen, playing the feisty bird jewel on "Rio 2."
In the movie, she's now married to Blu, the character voiced by Jesse Eisenberg.
When asked about any trait of her character in the movie that she would like to follow when she becomes a mother, Hathaway replied, "Well, I'd like to just be a mom, period. I like the way she and Blu as parents support each other, they try not to contradict each other in front of the kids".
Andy Garcia plays her dad in the movie. Though known for his serious roles in Hollywood movies, Garcia didn't think twice about joining the cast of "Rio 2."
"In the work that you do, you want it to have resonance. I think there's an extraordinary sense of joy in this movie that you'll definitely walk away with.
The movie also features Rodrigo Santoro, Kristin Chenoweth, and Jemaine Clement.
