MANILA, Philippines -- The scheduled trip Saturday of Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Albert del Rosario to South Korea was postponed, DFA spokesperson Raul Hernandez said.

In his Twitter account, Hernandez said del Rosario's trip was postponed "for a short period to complete the gathering of all necessary information."

Del Rosario was scheduled to fly to South Korea today to assess the situation in the Korean peninsula, and to check on the contingency plan for Filipinos there in case hostilities break out between North and South Korea.

But Hernandez clarified there are still no reports of an imminent threat from Pyongyang.

"In consultation with our international partners on the [Democratic People's Republic of Korea] situation, there are currently no indications of an imminent threat," he said.
