MANILA, Philippines – The family of Elizabeth Batain arrived in Manila on Thursday, a day after she was executed in China for drug trafficking.
They arrived 11:10 a.m. aboard a China Southern Airline flight CZ 3091 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1.
The family, composed of Lorenzo Batain Jr., Laiza Batain and Angie Casas, Arcelie Casas and Fr. Ancelmo Valerio, was met at the airport by officers of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
After disembarking from the airplane, the group immediately covered their faces to prevent media from taking their pictures.
Batain, Sally Ordinario-Villanueva, and Ramon Credo were executed on Wednesday in China for drug trafficking.
