Suspected drunk driver charged with murder of Fil-Am Marine
REDWOOD CITY, California – The suspected drunk driver who fatally struck Filipino Marine Andrew Silva on March 25 has been charged with murder.
Authorities said Alexander Yohn, 23, was charged Thursday with murder, gross vehicular manslaughter, and felony hit and run.
Yohn’s Mini Cooper reportedly ran a red light and struck Silva’s motorcycle on Fremont Boulevard in Fremont, California early Tuesday morning.
The 23-year-old Silva had just returned from a tour of duty in Afghanistan.
He leaves behind a wife and a two year old son.
