DFA bares temporary passport releasing scheme

MANILA - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will implement a temporary passport-releasing scheme beginning next week.

According to the DFA, the scheme will enable the e-Passport System to undertake technical maintenance to prevent any breakdown and malfunction and ensure applicants that passport services will not be disrupted.

"The DFA wishes to assure the public that it is exhausting all its efforts in providing a better service to the Filipinos, locally and abroad," the DFA said in a statement.

The temporary passport-releasing scheme will be in effect starting Tuesday, April 1.

Below is the new releasing schedule:

The DFA expects to lift this temporary scheme and return to its normal release schedule on April 15, 2014.

"The public’s utmost understanding and cooperation is requested during the implementation of these temporary passport release dates," the DFA added.
